Having a good grasp of Technology Business Fundamentals are absolutely critical for success in the tech world. IKI’s TBF course provides traditional business communications with a technology twist which equips students with verbal, written and non-verbal communication skills and “how-to” on the most up-to-date technology tools used across the tech world. Students will gain insight on the ‘what, when, where & how’ of business “tech” world communications. Verbal and digital written communications will be the focus as students learn how to adjust either type of communication depending upon the business environment and digital communication type. Microsoft tools which are commonly used across industries. Utilizing Microsoft Windows based machines, students will be taught basic file creation and management as well as the fundamentals of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Students will learn how to manage a new tech project from start to finish using standard project management(PM) processes. In a mock tech project environment, students will learn the components of a tech product life cycle, traditional project management and agile management approaches. Students will also receive an intro to typical PM software tools & templates for future project work. Starts: 11/6/17 Ends: 11/30; no classes week of 11/20; Mon & Tue, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. (lab time included)

Students will learn how to develop and properly delivery business presentations created with Microsoft Powerpoint. Skills on how to start and end strong, how to capture the audience and ensure they receive the message you want them to walk away with afterwards are critical to success in today’s competitive business careers.
